Dumping a load of bark from the I Level Sawmill in Longview at Pacific Fibre in Longview.

Alder chips for smoking meat

Here is a free or nearly free way to make alder chips for smoking meat. The last picture is of some boneless pork ribs that i smoked using my free alder chips. YuuuuUUuummy!

The cat

This is our cat. I have lots of pics of our dogs and felt it is only fair to add a pic of the cat. He lives in the front of the house and the dogs live in the back of the house.

Ivans Bowl

I think that if you have read my blog long enough you know I like to build bowls on the lathe. The best bowls are ones I build with someone in mind to recieve it. This is a custom made bowl for my friend Ivan Olson. It is made from a walnut tree that was grown on Ocean Beach Hiway in Longview. The owner cut the tree down, got the easy wood for firewood and then offered up the rest to my son Harvey. We went and got a pickup load and this is some of it. I hope you enjoy this bowl Ivan. Use it for your keys or your glasses or maybe your loose change. This bowl wants to be used, not just sat on a shelf.,
