This is a bowl I made from a piece of wood that is called Yak Wood. I bought this wood from a specialty store in Portland and I cannot find any one else who knows what Yak Wood is. If I ever get back there I will ask them about it. Patty uses this bowl to store some jewelry in.
OK, I found out that this is Yacushapana Wood. The tree grows in South America mostly in Brazil, Peru and Columbia. The specie name (if you care) is Terminalia Oblonga. Te reason they called it Yak Wood is that they couldn't fit the whole name on the wrapper.
